Ribbon Line

The ribbon line can produce 2, 4, 6, 8, or 12 fiber ribbons using interchangeable dies. The line is designed horizontal for ease of operator string-up. Linespeeds up to 500 mpm can be reached.

The twelve fiber pay-offs have an accurate low tension capability and each position is independently controlled from the operator panel.

The resin die and reservoir are heated to maintain a consistent resin flow. The reservoir has variable pressure that automatically adjusts at various speeds to maintain a consistent ribbon dimension. A bulk resin tank is designed to feed the heated reservoir for a continuous run and to decrease any downtime.

The line can be configured with 2 or 3 fusion lamps depending on the amount of cure required and the linespeed.

An operator touchpanel, industrial PC and PLC combine to provide total control over the line—complete with alarms and trending. Optional sensors also ensure that the highest cure rates are achieved.

The line can be configured with a fully automatic or a manual take-up.
