We manufacture capstans for a wide variety of applications.

Caterpillar Capstan

Desired for some applications. We manufacture caterpillar capstans designed with a pneumatic open/close system. The pneumatic pressure can be set locally or from the HMI. The upper and lower capstan belts ride on multiple grooved pulleys so that force is evenly applied along the belt. The belts tensioning is achieved mechanically by threaded rods that tighten the belts. Both capstan belts are driven using a transfer case and a single AC Vector motor. A multi-channel digital encoder can be mounted with the capstan for length and speed feedback.
